OFFICIAL! United break transfer record for new signing

Newly promoted Premier League side, Sheffield United, have broken their transfer record to sign 24-year-old striker, Callum Robinson, from Championship side, Preston North End, on a four-year-deal for an undisclosed fee believed to be £7.05 million.


Luke Freeman was Sheffield United’s record signing when he arrived for an undisclosed fee believed to be £5.04 million from another Championship side, Queens Park Rangers, just days before Robinson’s signing.

The striker is the Blades’ third signing this summer transfer window, with Phil Jagielka returning to the club on a one-year deal after his contract at Everton expired at the end of June.


After the deal was sealed, Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder expressed his delight at the arrival of Robinson who scored 32 goals in 130 appearances while playing in the Championship.

“Callum fits into our structure perfectly as we look to Championship players who we feel can be successful at Premier League level,” Wilder said about his third signing of the summer transfer window.
