GRAMMY AWARDS: Wizkid, Davido ignored As Other Nigerian Artistes Like Adekunle Gold, Yemi Alade And Burna Boy gets considerations for nominations


Some top Nigerian artistes, such as Adekunle Gold, Yemi Alade & Burna Boy are set to be considered for a Grammy Award come 2019. It’s more recognition for Nigerian artistes, Adekunle Gold, Yemi Alade, Burna Boy as they’re being considered to be nominated for the upcoming 61st Grammy Awards.

The above mentioned Nigerian artistes would be nominated in the ‘Best World Music Album’ category. This follows earlier news that Seun Kuti picked up a Grammy nod for his album ‘Black Times’.

Among the three main sectors under the entertainment industry in Nigeria; Comedy, music, and film, Nollywood have more actors and actresses that would be regarded as hot and sexy. Seun Kuti, a Nigerian singer and son of Nigerian music legend, Fela Kuti has been nominated for Grammy awards in the best world music album c ategory.

Being nominated and winning the Grammy awards is often times the greatest dream of a music artiste and Seun Kuti, son of music legend, Fela Kuti who continued his father’s legacy in the music world has now been nominated for the Grammy Awards.

A Grammy Award (stylized as GRAMMY, originally called Gramophone Award), or Grammy, is an award presented by The Recording Academy to recognize achievements in the music industry. The annual presentation ceremony features performances by prominent artists, and the presentation of those awards that have a more popular interest.

 It shares recognition of the music industry as that of the other performance awards such as the Academy Awards (film), the Emmy Awards (television), and the Tony Awards (theater).

The first Grammy Awards ceremony was held on May 4, 1959, to honor and respect the musical accomplishments by performers for the year 1958. Following the 2011 ceremony, the Academy overhauled many Grammy Award categories for 2012.

The 61st Annual Grammy Awards, honoring the best achievements from October 1, 2017 to September 30, 2018, will be held on February 10, 2019, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
