Group calls for sack of NDDC Director, Adjogbe

A group of Niger-Delta militants and youth leaders under the aegis of Egbesu United (EU) has called on the Federal Government to sack the Executive Director, Project, EDP, at Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Engr. Sam Adjogbe, from the board.

The Bayelsa State based group, which made the call in Yenagoa, the state capital, accused Adjogbe of serving personal interest and ego rather than promoting the interest of the region at the Commission.

Publicity Secretary of the group, Odubu Ebirie, claimed in a statement that apart from negative impact of the destructive and wicked attitude of the EDP towards the regional interest of the Commission, his action was capable of destroying the All Progressive Congress, APC, fortune in the region.

Ebirie, further alleged that Adjogbe was irredeemably corrupt, adding that he was serving the dishonest interest of his godfather who he said recommended him for the appointment.

“We shall fight Adjogbe to a stand still because he is against the good of our great party and the regional interest,” EU vowed.

EU further averred that the EDP was a mole of the PDP, noting that with his continuous stay in the office, the political future of the APC in the region was as good as gloomy.

”Adjogbe has come to cause disaffection amongst the youth and Ex-militant Leaders in the region putting our regional development on the reverse gear and at the same time engaging in reckless looting of the Commission in connivance with his self acclaimed godfather who we know is legendary in electoral failure and absolutely bereft of electoral value.

“Our group blame the political system for thrusting up an ego – driven character like Adjogbe. We are aware that that the Commission through him award contracts daily but most contracts he awards to his proxies. For these reasons and many others we call on the administration to sack this man we know to be a very bad leg in the Commission”, the Ijaw group stated.
